A rating is the score given to a map by NUMA members. The rating on the map appears publicly after five votes, although the mapmaker can view the rating at any time. The votes are averaged simultaneously. The ratings range from 0 (worst) to 5 (best), in increments of 1 'ninja' (formerly 0.5).

Giving a map an unfairly low rating is known as sniping.

Many users do not like rating, and there have been many attempts to remove it entirely from the system.
